Hello, we're PandaLabs

Why we opened a lab instead of a software factory, and the five rules we're going to follow.

Published on 1 min read

Some ideas spend years going around in your head. An app that would fix a problem at home, a small game to play on the bus, a system for a friend’s business, a toy that never existed. PandaLabs exists to get them out of there.

We don’t want to be a company that does one thing. We want to be a lab: a place where it’s fine to try, get it wrong and try again, as long as whatever goes out into the world is well made.

Why a panda

Because we like pandas. That simple. But also because a panda is calm, patient and hard to forget, and that’s how we want our products to feel.

The five rules

Before writing the first line of code, we wrote down the rules we’ll follow:

  1. Privacy first. We keep only what a product needs. No selling data, no hidden trackers. This very site uses no cookies or analytics.
  2. Fair prices. No surprise fees, no hard-to-cancel plans.
  3. Details matter. Error messages, empty screens and both languages are finished before launch.
  4. We give back. With useful tools, and with part of what we earn invested in local problems. We’ll report it openly.
  5. Stay curious. Web, mobile, games, private systems or toys: any format is fair game.

Ideas, well built.

What’s next

Our first project is PlaneaTuFiesta, a tool to plan parties without spreadsheets or endless group chats. We’ll write here about how we build it, mistakes included.

If you have an idea that’s been waiting a while, write to us.
